This commitment was recognised when Bank Lane was named one of the Best Venues in Ireland in Hot Press magazine’s Best of Ireland 2025, reflecting the venue’s growing national profile and dedication to artistic excellence.
A core part of Bank Lane’s mission is to help re-establish Waterford as a key stop on the national touring circuit. In the past year this momentum was evident through performances by leading acts including Villagers, The Scratch, Pillow Queens, Fionn Regan, Kíla, Tom Meighan, Soda Blonde, Gilla Band, House Plants, Jenny Greene, The Lemon Heads, Cry Before Dawn, and many more—placing original Irish music at the heart of the programme.
Building on this foundation, Bank Lane is launching Block Party, a new summer-long live music series running every Saturday, with a clear focus on original music. The series will showcase a curated mix of emerging national and local artists, providing a regular platform for new voices while strengthening audience engagement with original Irish music.Block Party is designed as both an artist development pathway and an audience-building initiative, offering consistent, high-quality programming throughout the summer months. By combining accessibility, strong curation, and a lively city-centre setting, the series aims to further cement Bank Lane’s role in Waterford’s cultural ecosystem and support the next generation of Irish musicians.
